In the summer, go tubing on the Yampa River. You can rent large inner tubes and float down the slow-moving river through downtown Steamboat Springs. Life jackets are provided and parents can share tubes with young kids so everybody can have a fun and safe day.
If your kids like horses, consider taking them riding. Many ranches offer lessons and rides in rings at the ranches or on adjacent trails.
