Mongolia is a land-locked country between China and Russia. The country has short warm summers and cold dry winters. With that said, the best time to visit Mongolia is in the summertime and in particular in July during the Naadam Festival. This festival is the national holiday of Mongolia and is celebrated with three sports: wrestling, horse racing, and archery. Naadam is the most exciting time in Mongolia. As for the cuisine, it is rather average where the main dishes are heavy on lamb and mutton accompanied with fried noodles. But for how cheap everything is in Mongolia, travelers will be able to stretch their money.
