Liberia is a coastal country in West Africa. It is known primarily for the beaches and rainforests. This is a country mainly for the adventurous tourists, not so much for the urbanites. With adventure, however, comes risk. Some of the forestland has dangerous wildlife, so be cautious and take a guide with you when venturing around in the forest. There are also risks in the more populated areas as well. Although a little safer than neighboring countries, Liberia still has high crime rates for robbery and rape. Women should not walk alone at night.
