Overview
This seaside town is iconic America on vacation. With a boardwalk perfect for kids (and kids at heart), miles of perfect beaches, and plenty of casinos, Atlantic City offers endless opportunities to unwind and indulge. Take the kids to the Atlantic City Aquarium for an afternoon or to the Monopoly Monument, an homage to the game that features the names of Atlantic City streets. Or how about a girls weekend of tanning and shopping? Spend some time browsing at Tiffany’s, then head to the beach to take in the sights and treat yourselves to some chocolate ice cream. Feeling lucky? Why not bring all your friends down to do some gambling and partying? The choice is yours - and your ideal vacation awaits.
ShoppingLucky enough to win a little cash at the casino? Why not spend it at some of Atlantic City’s great shops. While kitschy tourist shops line the Boardwalk with windows full of funny t-shirts and shelves full of Atlantic City shot glasses, there’s more to shopping in Atlantic City than one might see at first glance.
Head to the Tanger Outlets to find your favorite brands at discount prices. From apparel to specialty stores, there’s a little bit of everything here including a few restaurants where you can take a break from shopping. For more high-end shopping, check out The Pier Shops at Caesar’s where you’ll find Tiffany and Gucci, among others.
CuisineEnjoy the best of county fair and beachside cuisine on the Boardwalk. Stroll in the sun with a slice of pizza or a funnel cake. Pop into candy shops for salt water taffy. Relive your childhood with a big pink sphere of cotton candy. Steel’s Fudge is the oldest family-run fudge producer in the world and offers fudge in flavors from chocolate to rocky road to coconut. Steel’s is also a great place to indulge your need to eat salt water taffy on the beach.
For a sit-down dining experience, head to a seafood restaurant like Dock’s Oyster House. Dock’s is known for its raw bar and steaks and has a long history in Atlantic City. For something romantic, find a restaurant with great views of the ocean and a little candlelight for ambiance. In Atlantic City, you’ve got plenty of options from seafood to Italian food to diners to hidden bakeries. It’s a good thing, too, because with all that sunny weather your outdoor activities are likely to leave you pretty hungry.
